Name: Tweedcoat
Gender: She-cat
Age: 179 Moons
Clan: RainClan
Position: Elder
Appearance: Tweedcoat’s fur is always fuffled and is flecked with different colors, all of which seem slightly faded with age. She also has rather long whiskers which add a lot of character to her round face. When she was a warrior she fought many battles and from these she gained many scars. She has clumps of hair missing from her belly, small, lasting scratches on her heels and one obvious pink scar that runs vertically across her left eye. This eye is slightly dulled with loss of sight but her right eye glistens like early morning dew.
Personality: Having lived such a long life, Tweedcoat has lost some of her spirit and fun-loving nature. However, she is still extremely kindhearted and warm towards everyone she knows. But, even though she is a kindly cat, Tweedcoat has a deep sorrow about her which ages her terribly and sometimes makes her irritable. She is also extremely clever and quick-witted and is not an easy cat to cross.
History: Tweedcoat has lived quite a simple life and has watched the clans change over the years. She was once a great warrior and dedicated queen. She has always stood by her clan but has always been quite lonely. Her mother, Dullcoat, died shortly after her kits birth. Then Tweedcoat’s mate was killed in battle two moons after she became pregnant. Her kits lived for merely one moon before they were infected by greencough and died...
IC: Tweedcoat licked her tiny kits heads as they lay at her belly struggling to breathe. Their chests rose and fell raggedly and their little faces were twisted in pain. A tear fell from their mothers eye as she watched her poor kits suffer.
When the sun rose, the clans medicine cat came to visit and found Tweedcoat still staring lovingly at her kits although they were now motionless and cold.
The old cat looked up with eyes full of sorrow. “May you help me move them?” she mewed quietly. The medicine cat nodded sorrily and began to nudge the lifeless figures towards another warm nest. Then Tweedcat spoke again, “Thankyou,” she whispered, “I am just going for a walk,” she rose and stretched her cramped limbs, then padded softly out into the camp.
There were only one or two other cats out so early in the morning but the tired mother did not wish for any attention and so she sat in the shadows of the tall trees.
After a few hours, the sun shone brightly down onto the camp and more and more cats were appearing. Tweedcoat shut her eyes tight and tried to block out the awful chatter of the healthy young kittens emerging from the nursery.
“My dear Tweedcoat,” the clan leader had made her way over to her sad friend, “I am so sorry. We will be having a ceremony for your young ones. The clan shall all mourn this great loss.”
“Yes...” Tweedcoat was barely listening, she felt her eyes prickling with tears. Then she promptly stood and made her way into the bustle of the camp, holding her head up and trying her best to smile.
History Continued: All of this misfortune has made Tweedcoat’s life exceedingly painful and she has suffered much heart-ache. But she will always stay loyal to her clan and watch over the young.
