Snowstar felt tired. Tired and alone.
It was awful and she did not know what had come over herself. She was usually so optimistic and happy with her life, but after the month's Gathering, she felt sad.
Perhaps it was because she knew the forest was falling apart. Not literally of course, but the four clans no longer lived in the peace StarClan had meant for them. It pained Snowstar to think that she was forced to be a mere spectator. She could do nothing to stop the unfolding events which could only hold despair, sorrow and... death.
She felt as if she could turn to no one. In the past, she had known herself to speak openly and freely to the other three Leaders, her dearest friends, and her Deputy. But now, with the forest so close to destruction, there was no one. No one.
Froststar, Dovestar and Whisperstar hadn't even spoken when she had attempted to address the issues at hand. It hurt her so much to think that this was the end.
The end of the clans. The end of the forest. The end of all peace.
As Snowstar curled up on her dry, warm bed in the corner of her cave, she sighed deeply. In that sigh, she tried to get rid of her negative thoughts. Above all she needed to be strong and positive for her clan. She loved the cats of SnowClan with all her heart and soul.
Maybe all is not lost, she thought, maybe hope remains.
"Hope always remains." Snowstar frowned as she heard another's thoughts enter her mind. Was it StarClan sending her a message? It felt like a memory. Had someone spoken those words to her before?
Her head resting on her paws, she closed her eyes. She knew she could not sleep, but it was good to just rest.
