Diamondpelt scowled at the cave before him. It was dark, very dark, and he could feel the chill coming from its entrance. Stupid cave, he thought. It was said that only the bravest entered its icy grips, but Diamondpelt didn't really consider himself brave. He felt no threat from the cave and he didn't see why anyone else should. "Just because it's dark," he muttered.
As he entered the gloomy place, he found it hard at first to see through the utter blackness. However, his eyes soon became accustomed and he looked around the place for somewhere to sit. It was the night of The Gathering and he often came here at this time of the month.
There in the pitch-blackness he could be himself. He had tried to be himself in the presense of other cats but nothing ever worked. FrostClan all hated him for his kindness and SunClan, SnowClan and RainClan hated and distrusted him because of the clan he belonged to.
Can't win, he thought. So he hid. Hiding wasn't fun. But neither was being hated.

Through the gloom he gazed. Most cats found the utter darkness disconcerting, but Diamondpelt loved it. Most cats liked to look out across a great valley as the sun was setting, Diamondpelt prefered the complete blackness which came with night.
Maybe it was strange, but he liked to just be alone. Just himself and his wirl of thoughts.

Almost an hour later, Diamonpelt's eyes snapped open after having drifted into an uneasy sleep. One of his trates was that he had exceptionally good hearing, and in the very far distance he knew the Clan had returned. "I wonder how the wonderful Gathering went," he though to himself.
Slowly he stretched his cramped limbs and readeed them to sprint back to Camp before anyone realised he had disappeared. "Back to the real world," he groaned as he stepped back out of the cave and into the warmer air.
A second later he was well on his way to the camp. Running as fast as his legs could carry him.

Froststar stayed in the bushes, watching as Diamondpelt ran past. Just earlier she had seen him in the Ice Cave sleepin. How dare he! she thought. One day that warrior was going to overstep the line...
