Blackberry slunk through the tall, golden grass, his nose close to the ground, trying desperately to scent some prey...
You see, he had just come back from one of his long wanders. It was one of his dangerous 'hobbies'. He would go off in search of other places, like, this time, he had found himself in a world where twolegs and their monsters seemed to rule. Fresh kill could not be found there. Everything was dead rubbish which made his skin crawl just thinking about it. Absolutely disgusting. He certainly didn't plan on going back there ever again!
Now he was back after around two weeks, he was tired from always looking for anything threatening and he was hungry from merely rummaging through silver-coloured things that had made his fur reek. His stomach rumbled loudly and he groaned; if he didn't find food soon he'd hate to think what would become of him...

Suddenly his nose twitched. He caught a strong wiff of fresh-delightlful mouse and his mouth instantly began to water like a waterfall. However, he would not loose his calmness, he never did, so he crept forward so that he could see the tiny but plump creature scrurrying about ahead. After a few moments he judged that it was a good time to pounce. So he lunged himself at the animal and as he felt his teeth sink into the juicy flesh he sighed. This was the life.
A few minutes later he had devoured every last scrap and he already felt so much better. Blackberry would never let his guard down, but he felt as if he could relax slightly. He found a spot in the sun, sat down and began to groom him dark pelt. Within seconds it began to feel and smell a lot, lot better...

"Blackberry!" Cobalteyes hissed under her breath. He was just there, if she was quiet enough.. No! She shoved that thought out of her head if he noticed her they would get into a brutal fight, her agility against his strength. She arranged herself to look as if she was excited to see him, "Blackberry, how... interesting to see you," her voice was pure honey laced with poison...

Blackberry immediately stopped licking his pelt, but he stayed in a relaxed position. He roled his eyes at the sound of that slick voice. "Cobalteyes," his voice was calm and matter-of-fact, and he bowed his head in a polite greating. "Long time no see. I've just returned." Despite remaining decompressed, he knew that he must not meet the cat's eyes. She was trouble.

Cobalteyes stiffened, he wasn't looking at her face. "Finding a lack of food, Blackberry?" She smiled to herself, she was sleek and always had fresh-kill. "Are you not allowed to go to the clanlands or are you just scared?"

"You don't know where I have just spent my last fourteen nights, do you, Cobalteyes?" he asked, keeping his voice utterly polite. "I have been living where the twolegs are," he gestured the direction with his tail. "Prey is rather scarce there, yes. But now I am back I have managed to find myself quite a tasty moursel, thankyou." Then he scowled sever so slightly and whispered, "When you have slept with cats who eat twoleg rubbish and have killed dogs, nearly been killed by a monster on countless occasions, and had inky-black, putrid smelling liquid poured all over you, then you may call me scared." It was true, a twoleg had poured this substance all over his back legs and tail around a week ago, and, after trying to lick it off, he found himself violently sick for more than a couple of days. (He'd eventually washed it away in a murky, green river beside a thunderpath).

OOC: I sense some chemistry here, do you agree?"
"Don't call me ignorant," she hissed. "You may have been living with twolegs, but I have been going deep into enemy territory where anyone who saw me would have tried to kill men and every sunset I had to go and report to Froststar." "You have no idea what I have been through in my life." "Have you ever talked to Froststar Blackberry? If you have you would pity me." "So really you are the ignorant one," she glared at him.

This made Blackberry so very mad. He could feel the flames dancing behind his eyes and, rather unwisely, he looked Cobalteyes straight in the face. "I did not live with twolegs," his teeth were gritted fiercely. "And, no, perhaps I have not met Froststar; I never wish or plan to. But do not," he was almost roaring, "Expect me to pity you! You're a vicious snake, Cobalteyes! Don't think I haven't heard the stories of your poisonous tongue!" He blinked as he suddenly realised that, during this speech, his anger had caused him to leap forward and now his face was a mere ten centimeters from her face.

OOC: True chemistry!!! *Cobalteyes glares at Froststar*))
"You fool, you absolute fool." she replied. "After so many moons of being a loner, you still can't control your emotions." "If I wanted I could make you try to kill me, but just because I am me does not mean that I don't have just as much chance of killing you as you do of me." "Look at how angry I have already made you."

Blackberry hissed and then turned his back on her. "You do make me angry, Cobalteyes. And yes, perhaps I am a fool. I was a fool to even look you in the eyes. That will never happen again; looking at you makes me sick." He took a deep breath, "However, I am sure that you have been a fool at times too; your life cannot be so easy as you make it sound to me. For I do not find the idea of facing Froststar so terrible." He then flicked his tail, "And I'll have you know that I have NEVER murdered a cat and I do not plan to." He turned slightly to look over his shoulder, "Not even you, who makes me loose my control." He did not know whether she would follow or call him back, but he intented to leave. Before he did so though, he whispered, "Also, Cobalteyes, I, unlike you, have never had the privelage of belonging to a Clan. I have always be a 'loner'."

OOC: Soz it was short but I have to get off, we must arrange another meeting place...))
She slammed her sheathed paw across his cheek. "Don't underestimate what you cannot comprehend," she hissed. She turned and stalked away.

Blackberry did not shrink back and he also did not allow himself to get angry again. He merely sighed deeply and then ran off into the tall grass, glad to see the back of the she-cat. It was her, and her alone, who ignited such a fierce hatred in him. That hatred scared him, for he had never trusted himself. His pace quicked again as he kept running, and running, and running...
